When is Mother’s Day 2024?
It is on Sunday, May 12th, 2024. Remember, it is never too early to start planning and making it special for your mom.
Feeling silly for asking? Don’t. Though Mother’s Day always takes place in May, the date changes every year—so it’s not like you’d already have the actual date memorized. If you want an easy way to remember the actual day for next year, remember that Mother’s Day always takes place on the second Sunday in May.

History of Mother’s Day
Mother’s Day is a holiday that is celebrated around the world, but did you know that its origins can be traced back to ancient civilizations? The Greeks and Romans held festivals in honor of their maternal goddesses, but it wasn’t until the early 1900s that America officially recognized Mother’s Day as a national holiday.
Thanks to the efforts of Anna Jarvis, a woman who wanted to honor her own mother’s memory, President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation establishing the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.
Since then, the holiday has evolved to include gifts, cards, and celebratory meals, but its original intention of showing gratitude and appreciation for the women who shape our lives remains at the heart of the celebration.
Remember to call your mom
Mother’s Day is an opportunity to let your mom know how much she means to you. Whether it is a simple gesture like a phone call or a grand surprise, the most important thing is to make her feel loved and appreciated.
With these tips, you can ensure that Mother’s Day is an unforgettable day for your mom. Start planning in advance and make it a day that she will treasure forever.
