“Wait a cotton pickin minute! Say what? You’re pumpkins aren’t orange?” No, not this time… This time it’s navy and gold marbleized pumpkins for the WIN! I’ve never been the type to “conform to the norm”, so when it was time to decorate the table for fall, standard orange pumpkins from Hobby Lobby would not do!
>>>I noticed lots of DIY crafters painting pumpkins several different neutral soft colors but somehow knew navy would be my color of choice! With mixed metals trending in the wide world of home decor, galvanized silver and antique gold quickly became my choice for accent colors!
I wanted to create interesting texture so marbleizing the paint colors sounded like a fun way to go–BOOM unconventionally, classic Navy and Gold pumpkins! Hop on down to the video below to see me share the quick tutorial on this fun DIY project.

Once the mess was cleaned up and the paint had dried, a quick trip (is there really such a thing? LOL) back to Hobby Lobby was in order! I picked out some gold napkins, a navy buffalo check piece of cotton material (about three yards), a gold mesh piece, galvanized chargers, a few stems, and then a TON of stuff NOT on my list of course! The rest of the tablescape was made of ‘finds’ around the house I already had.
>>>At this point, I was sooooo tired but it was time to get to work creating the Fall Tablescape Masterpiece pictured below!
>>>BE SURE TO PIN THIS FOR LATER!<<<
What I CAN tell you is that this project was so much fun! There were a few hiccups along the way, but in the end, I think it turned out nice. What do you think?
***BTW— in less than a few hours of taking the photos of this project, I turned my back and my brave little dog successfully hoisted herself up on the table and proceeded to destroy several of the pretty cotton stems on the place settings… and this is why we can’t have nice things. The official, detailed, “behind the blog scene” video is below to view for yourself. Enjoy!
