Before we get started, gather these supplies:
- 18″ wire wreath frame from Dollar Tree or my Amazon shop

- Rhinestone bling embellishments
- Ribbon or zip tie for hanging (optional)
How to Make a Paper Fan Wreath
At first, I wasn’t sure how this would all come together, but the key is to assemble the right size of fans for the wreath frame.
Preparing Your Work Area
Find a clean, flat surface to work on, and plug in your hot glue gun to heat up. Make sure you have all your materials within reach to streamline the process.
Preparing the Paper Fans
- Assemble the Fans: Peel the sticker off the paper fans to attach the two ends together and create the fan shape.
- Trim the Excess: Trim off the excess paper handle and string meant for hanging to keep the look neat and clean.
- You will have a nice stack of red, white, and blue paper fans all assembled and ready to add to the wreath frame.
Attaching the Fans to the Wreath Frame
- Start by placing the largest paper fans around the outer edge of the wreath frame. Use a generous amount of hot glue to secure each fan in place. Hold the fan for a few seconds until the glue sets.
- Continue to fill in the wreath frame with medium and small paper fans, layering them to create a full, dimensional look. Alternate colors to ensure a balanced and festive appearance.
Pro Tip: Be patient with the process and press down on the paper fans while you wait for the hot glue to take hold! Add extra glue and use a silicone mat to catch extra drips. Find one HERE.
Adding Rhinestone Bling Embellishments
Now it’s time to add some sparkle! Use hot glue to attach rhinestone bling embellishments to the center of some of the paper fans. This will give your wreath a touch of glamour and catch the light beautifully.
Feel free to get creative with the placement of the rhinestones, scattering them throughout the wreath.
Finishing Touches
If you’d like to add a ribbon for hanging, cut a length of ribbon and hot glue it to the back of the wreath frame. You can tie a bow at the top for an extra touch of charm. I used a zip tie to secure mine.
