Mint Chocolate Texas Sheet Cake
Nothing from Texas is better than this mint chocolate Texas sheet cake recipe! In case you didn’t know, I live in the Lone Star State, and everything is bigger in Texas. This dessert is no exception. I mean, I can’t think of much that goes together better than chocolate and mint, can you?

Making a Texas chocolate sheet cake with cake mix makes it fast and easy so you can get out of the kitchen faster. And even though chocolate ganache sounds real fancy, it’s actually super simple to make. It’s just chocolate chips and heavy whipping cream.
With a hint of mint, this is the best Texas sheet cake recipe. Not to mention it’s easy and has almost no prep time! So let’s get started!
Ingredients you’ll need for Mint chocolate texas sheet cake:
- 2 boxes of triple chocolate cake mix
- 2 1/2 C whole milk
- 6 large eggs
- 1 C canola oil
- 1 TSP mint extract
- 1 C chocolate chips
Chocolate Ganache Frosting:
- 1 C chocolate chips
- 1/2 C heavy whipping cream
- 1 C mini chocolate chips, topping (THESE are my favorites)
step by step Directions for mint chocolate texas sheet cake:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray the 9×13 pan with Pam baking spray and set aside.
- Using a standing mixer, beat together all ingredients until combined.
- Pour batter into the 9×13 pan.
- Bake for 35 minutes.
- Use a knife to check if the center comes out clean.
When the cake is done, set it aside to cool off.
ganache instructions:
- Using a small pot, slowly heat up the heavy whipping cream until steaming.
- While heavy whipping cream is heating up, place chocolate chips into a heat-proof bowl.
- Once the heavy whipping cream is heated, pour over the chocolate chips. Allow them to sit for 1 minute before whisking until smooth. (Told ya it was easy!)
Pour the ganache over the top of the cake, using a spatula to spread it out evenly. Top with the mini chocolate chips.
Cut, serve, and enjoy!
