Supplies Needed to Make a Leprechaun Trap

  • Dollar Tree Plus 16″ X 20″ Canvas
  • Scrap fabric (mine was from Dollar Tree)
  • Hot Glue
  • Leprechaun Hat (mine was from Dollar Tree)
  • Straw
  • Scissors
  • Decorations (optional)
  • Leprechaun Bait (You can use Lucky Charms Marshmallows only or simply pick the Lucky Charms marshmallows out of the box of Lucky Charms Cereal)

How to Make a Leprechaun Trap

The luck of the Irish is upon us! St. Patrick’s Day is almost here and that means it’s time to start planning your very own leprechaun trap. You don’t need a special leprechaun trap kit, just a few supplies from the Dollar store and you’re good to go!

Step One

Hot Glue a scrap piece of fabric to a Dollar Tree canvas for your base.

Step Two

Cut a straw or stick to prop up your leprechaun hat. Hot glue the tip of the straw onto the hat while the hat is propped up. See the images below. This is how you will trap your leprechaun!

Step Three

Add additional St. Patrick’s Day decorations to the base. Have fun with this and get creative. Think glitter, coins, candy, treats, or even copper pennies!

Step Four

Add your leprechaun bait! Get creative with your bait ideas! I used Lucky Charms cereal for mine, but you could always use colorful m&m’s, rainbow candies, or jelly beans!
