Have you ever come across something at a thrift store and you have no idea what you will use it for, but you know it will be something great? That is how this faux succulent candle ring came about.
I found a porcelain mold for a great price while thrifting and scooped it up. I knew it would come in handy for a craft project and it sure did. Let me show you how I used it to make a fun faux succulent candle ring. I love to use faux succulents in home decorating. Did you see the vintage toolbox succulent display I made?
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE a Faux Succulent Candle Ring
- Porcelain Mold – found at thrift store
- Faux Succulents – Dollar Tree
- Foam Wreath Form – Dollar Tree
- Pillar Candle – Dollar Tree
- Hot Glue Gun
- Scissors
HOW TO MAKE A Faux Succulent Candle Ring
Cut the foam wreath to fit inside the porcelain mold. Remove the tags from the succulents.
Determine where you want the succulents to go. Poke holes into the wreath form using the end of the succulents.
Once you have the holes in place, add a little hot glue into the hole and place the succulent stem into it. The glue will make it a little more secure.

Continue to add succulents around the wreath form until it is nice and full.
NEXT…
Once the succulents are secured into the foam, place the cut foam pieces into the porcelain mold. The foam fits nice and snug, so you don’t even have to add glue.
The cool thing is you can remove the foam pieces if you want to use the mold for something else. I love things that can be used over again.
Now you want to add a pillar candle to the center of the mold. You can use a battery operated candle, or a real candle.
that’s it!
All that’s left is to decorate with your beautiful new succulent candle ring. This could be used on a covered porch, or on a patio table as a pretty centerpiece. The battery operated candle would work great at night.
The next time you are at the thrift store, see if you come across any of these molds, or you may even be able to use a bundt pan. Wouldn’t that be fun?
