How to Make a Giant Hershey’s Kiss for Valentine’s Day

Is there anything sweeter than a Hershey’s Kiss? This Valentine’s Day, why not show your loved one how much you care by making them a giant Hershey’s Kiss filled with candy?

It’s easier than you might think, and the end result is just adorable. Keep reading for instructions on how to create your very own giant Hershey’s Kiss.

I’ve been having so much fun creating Valentine’s Day crafts and today I am sharing another super cute gift idea. The best part is you can use recycled materials to make it.

SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR A GIANT HERSHEY’S KISS

• Empty Plastic Water Bottle
• Aluminum Foil
• Cardboard  
• Sharpie
• Hot Glue Gun
• Craft Knife
• Printable Quotes (see below)
• Scissors

HOW TO MAKE A GIANT HERSHEY’S KISS

STEP 1.

Start by removing the label from an empty plastic water bottle. 

Quick Tip: Remove as much of the label as you can and use nail polish remover to get rid of any residue. Mine came off easily with no problems.

STEP 2.

Now you are going to cut the water bottle at the top where the first line is. You can see it actually has the shape of a Hershey’s Kiss!  

STEP 3. 

Place the cut water bottle on a piece of cardboard and trace around it with a Sharpie. Cut with your scissors.

Step 4. 

Next up, use your hot glue gun to run a bead of glue around the outer cardboard circle. 

Step 5. 

Now for the fun part! Fill the cut plastic with Hershey’s Kisses and secure the cutout cardboard to the bottom. You don’t want to lose any of that candy.  

Step 6. 

Place the filled candy cup in the center of a piece of aluminum foil and begin wrapping the candy cup.

Step 7.

For this step we are going to create a little tag for the giant Hershey’s Kiss. Most people call it a flag but it’s actually called a “plume”. The plume is printed with the words “kisses” or sometimes, just the flavor’s name. It’s also one of the trademarks of Hershey’s Kisses.

To make one of these I printed out fun quotes and cut them out for the kisses.

Step 8.

Cut a finished edge on the paper and give it a little curl by running scissors along the bottom. 

You can secure it to the top of the Kiss with a dab of hot glue.

Then fold up the aluminum foil around the tag so it is hanging out from the inside.

That’s all there is to it! Now you have the cutest oversized Hershey’s Kiss that makes a great gift idea for your sweetheart, or the kiddos!

If you’ve seen Giant Hershey’s Kisses for sale at retail stores they can be very pricey. Now you can make your own for a fraction of the cost.
