Friendsgiving is a celebration among friends getting together and a traditional Thanksgiving. It usually involves a potluck meal that is sure to create memories for a lifetime. Friendsgiving was a farely new concept when it started back in 2007 that has quickly evolved into the popular event it is today. If you are reading this post; I consider you my friend. Let’s do this…
when do you celebrate friendsgiving?
While it’s never too soon to start planning your Friendsgiving, about 10 days before the feast is a good time to get started. I like to say it’s an actual Friendsgiving Season, so therefore; anytime it works for you is good. However, the official date this year is Saturday, November 21, 2020.
Who is friendsgiving for?
Typically it is for any pair of friends or larger group of friends, but a lot of the time it includes those who struggle around the holidays, those who have no family, or those who live too far from their real family.
are there any friendsgiving traditions?
- Usually there is a potluck dinner where everyone is in charge of bringing an item. I think this Banana Cake would be awesome.
- Lots of stories are shared around the table. Oh the stories!
- Games are usually played. You could decorate with my Game Night Centerpiece and try out my Saran Wrap Ball Game, too!
- Music is fun to create the mood. Be sure to mix it up so that everyon feels included.
- No one leaves without a smile. This is the BEST PART!
