How to Make Faux Candy Apples

Come fall, I’m always craving candy apples! While I can’t necessarily keep fresh ones around all the time (hello, calories!) I can satisfy myself with some seasonally appropriate eye candy…faux candy apples! These are perfect!

How sweet (pun intended) are these faux candy apples? It such a fun way to decorate for fall and Halloween. Be sure to tell your guests they aren’t real though, as they may try to take a bite-they look that real!

supplies needed for FAUX CANDY APPLES

  • Acrylic paint in a caramel color – I did cinnamon in FolkArt
  • Mod podge –  I use matte but other formulas will work too if that’s what you have on-hand
  • Faux apples – any color works fine
  • Clear cellophane wrap on roll or bags (not necessary to have)
  • Wooden dowels, or twigs, or craft sticks
  • Ribbon of your choice. I recommend smaller width but you can use wider width and cut it in half. The material can also be used cut in strips for your decorative touch. Use what you have on hand if you can
  • Tags – also not necessary, but does add a cute decorative touch
