HOW TO MAKE A boho wedding wreath
Start by wrapping the embroidery hoop with yarn. You can use whatever color you like, but I went with a neutral beige color. Just tie a knot at the start of wrapping and continue to wrap until you reach the hoop clasp. At that point you can cut the yarn and knot it.
Start adding another strand of yarn on the other side of the hardware the same way. Just tie a knot at the beginning and cover the rest of the hoop, knotting it when it is covered. This way the yarn will look very finished. When you get to the very end, leave a longer strand of yarn to use to hang the wreath.
Now it’s time to add all of the pretty yarn and ribbon strands, which really give off that BOHO look that we love! Add a variety of lace ribbon, yarn, and pretty decorative ribbon to the bottom center of the hoop.
You can add a dab of hot glue to secure it. Cut it at the length you want. It helps to use a few different kinds of ribbon to really give it dimension and texture. The lace ribbon is perfect for a Wedding wreath!
Cut a piece of the burlap ribbon and hot glue it to the middle center of the hoop wreath. Finish off the edges with a dove tail cut, so it has a nice finished edge. It’s coming together now!

Now it’s time to add the garland of greenery. Wrap it around the hoop wreath until you are happy with the placement, and then use floral wire to secure it in a couple of places. It will be more secure than using hot glue, especially if this will be hung outside.
I was excited to use my new Scorch Marker for this project. Wood burning is fun, but there is a learning curve for sure. This handy tool makes it so easy to get that wood-burned look the easy way! Start by placing the letters and number stencil you want on the wood piece. Then just fill it in with the scorch marker. I also went over the wood to age it a little and give it more dimension.
Ready for the magic? Use a heat gun to reveal the wood burning effect. It’s really cool to see! You would never know it takes mere minutes to achieve this rustic look. Think of all the signs and gift ideas you can use with this product. I chose to add a small white button to the end of the wood piece for a little embellishment. Now, just hot glue the little wood sign to the middle of the burlap ribbon.
All that’s left now is to hot glue pretty flowers around the greenery. You don’t want to add too many. Less is more when going with a BOHO style wreath.
BEAUTIFUL BOHO WEDDING WREATH
This was such a simple wreath, but it really is beautiful. I could totally see this given as a gift to the bride-to-be at a bridal shower, with the date of the Wedding. It would also look great greeting guests next to an engagement photo of the happy couple.
THAT’S IT!
There are so many ways to decorate with this. And, if you don’t want to make it a Wedding wreath, you could also change out the words to a simple greeting, like “family” or “welcome”. I hope you enjoyed this pretty BOHO Wedding wreath as much as I enjoyed making it. Let me know if you give it a try!
