Dollar Tree Splatter Screen Buffalo Check Ornament DIY
This cute Dollar Tree Splatter Screen Ornament is great for placing on your front door or using as part of fun Christmas display. It’s no secret that buffalo check is the way to my heart and this black and red tote from Dollar Tree was begging me to be made into some sort of Christmas decoration. The simple splatter scree was the perfect shape and size for the beggining of a whimsical Chrismtas ornament. With these instructions, you can certainly make one or two for yourself!

supplies needed for dollar tree splatter screen ornament
- dollar tree splatter screen
- tote bag from the dollar tree
- jenga blocks from the dollar tree
- acrylic paint
- dollar tree bling ribbon
- coat hanger
- 2×3 dollar tree picture frame
- dollar tree buttons
- dollar tree pom poms
- black ribbon
- white ribbon
- hot glue gun and hot glue
- optional bling
step by step instructions for making diy ornament
- Remove the black knob handle from the top of the splatter screen.
- Trace the screen shape onto the tote bag and cut the shape out.
- Adhere the bag circle shape onto the splatter screen edges using hot glue.
- Hot glue strip of ribbon to middle of splatter screen.
- Remove the small picture frame guts and trim edges with bling ribbon.
- Hot glue the blinged out picture frame on top of the ribbon in the center of the splatter screen.
- Add a small strip of bling ribbon to the right hand center corner of the belt buckle.
- Take three wooden jenga blocks glued together to form the ornament top.
- Paint the wooden top white.
- Hot glue bling ribbon to the wooden top.
- Glue wooden top to top edge of the splatter screen.
- Hot Glue three black buttons down the front center of the circle.
- Snip the top hook portion of the coat hanger and glue to back of wooden top to act as the ornament “hook”.
- Tie a ribbon in a bow and add to the coat hanger.
- Optionally add a piece of bling to the center of the bow.
- Optionally glue white pom poms around outside edge of the ornament.
