My inspiration for making this mug rack came from another metal mug rack that I found on Amazon. I really wanted one of these farmhouse style mug racks for my own home to display all my Rae Dunn mugs and buffalo check mug collection.
I’m thrilled with how this turned out:
If you love my buffalo check mugs, you can find them HERE.You can also see a fun Rae Dunn inspired bumblebee HERE.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO MAKE a Wall Mounted Dollar Tree Mug Rack DIY
- 2 Mop/Broom handles from Dollar Tree
- 5 Over-the-Door Hooks from Dollar Tree
- Black Zip Ties
- Black sharpie for touch ups
- Tape Measure (to evenly space the hooks)
- Black Metallic Spray Paint
- E-6000
- Wire Clippers
Farmhouse style mug racks can be very pricey. So, I pieced together this mug rack using Dollar Tree supplies for less than $10, and I can’t wait to share how easy it was so that you can make one too!
I added a sign to the top of this mug rack, but you can always use a piece of greenery, or a cute banner. Check out this pretty cotton batting flower banner HERE.
One of the reasons I like shopping at Dollar Tree is because you can get creative with the items they have. Who knew that a couple of mop handles and over the door hooks could make a gorgeous farmhouse style mug rack?!
HOW TO MAKE A Wall Mounted Dollar Tree Mug Rack DIY
I spray painted the rubber coated wire hooks black and used zip ties to secure them evenly spaced to the two mop handles, hung on the wall with screws, but you could use hardware.
