How to Make A DIY Halloween Wreath with Candy

In this post, I’m going to show you how to make a DIY Halloween wreath with Candy that will not only impress trick-or-treaters but will also add a touch of “sweetness” to your front door décor.

Supplies Needed for Halloween Wreath
- Straw Wreath (Dollar Tree Plus has them)
- 3-4 Gift Bows
- Assortment of candy
- Assortment of curling ribbon
- Scissors
- Floral Pins
- Hot Glue as an alternative to floral pins
How to Make a Halloween Wreath with Candy

Step One: Apply Gift Bows
Attach a cluster of gift bows to the top or one side of the wreath using the floral pins of hot glue. This will add a fun pop of color to your wreath!
Step Two: Make Curly Cue Ribbon Bows
Choose curling ribbons in Halloween colors, or you can use whatever you have as I did. Cut the curling ribbons into 12-14 inch strips, long enough to tie a small bow. Tie each strip into a bow knot as shown below.
To curl the ribbon on either side of the bow, take a pair of scissors holding the dull side between your thumb and the ribbon, and press down as you pull the ribbon away from the center. This will cause the curling ribbon to curl and make a really fun bow!
Step Three: Attach Candy
Add the curly ribbons to each piece of candy and then using the floral pins or your hot glue gun, stick the candy onto the wreath form, ensuring that the candy is tightly secured.
Try to space the candy out evenly throughout the wreath.
Step Four: Fill in the Gaps
Add finishing touches to your wreath! After all the ribbon bows have been securely glued onto the wreath, look at the wreath as a whole.
If you see any gaps, you may fill them in with candy or ribbon. You can also add faux spiders to the wreath to give it a final creepy touch.
Make sure to get the inside space as well as the outer edges of the wreath form as well.
Step Five: Optionally Attach Scissors
If you would like for children to have the option to cut their very own piece of Halloween candy, attach a pair of safety scissors by tying them to one of the ribbons at the bottom.
Step Six: Attach a Hanger and Hang Your Halloween Wreath
I added a simple jute twine string to hang my wreath. You can add a beautiful ribbon that coordinates with your wreath colors then hang your wreath inside or out, your choice! What do you think? Will you try this? Let me know in the comments below.
