How to Arrange Fresh Flowers PIN

Supplies Needed

  • Fresh Flowers (Mine are from Petal Pickers)
  • A container at least half the height of the stems
  • Clear tape
  • Chrysal Flower Food
  • Water
  • Scissors
  • Penny

Steps to Arranging Flowers the Easy Way

Step One

Prepare the container by adding clear tape in a crisis cross design across the top in order to create a “frog” for your stems. This will help to hold them in place while remaining invisible.

Step Two

Sprinkle in your flower food, you can use the Chrysal that is included with most floral bouquets or use sweetener. Then add your water to a little over half way.

Step Three

Trim each stem at an angle for best results. This allows them to start fresh and take in the water best.

Use varying heights for interest.

Step Four

After all of your stems have been added, go back in with your “filler pieces” trimming off any branches or leaves that are on the lower half.

Finally, add in any fern-like filler.

If your arrangement contains tulips, add a penny to the water to help them stand at attention and last longer.

Optionally, add a bow to your container for extra flair! LOL!

Display your flowers somewhere you can see them daily and enjoy their beauty. Refill their water as needed by emptying the container, trimming stems again, and adding new flower food. This will ensure a longer-lasting result than simply topping off the old water.
