Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries

Forget the frozen fries, these air fryer sweet potato fries bake up crispy, chewy, and absolutely delicious. I have to say they are very addictive so be prepared to make up a few batches.

Air frying sweet potato fries is absolutely the best, no pot with hot messy oil, no grease stains on the stovetop, and best of all no oil-laden fries. Just healthy, crispy fries with minimal cleanup. Though I do love a nice crispy sweet potato fry I definitely love the no messy clean up just about as much.

If you haven’t invested in an air fryer there’s no time like the present. It has become my go-to kitchen appliance these days. It cooks everything up quickly and easily, especially fries due to the even circulation of hot air.

Sweet potato fries have a universal appeal whether you serve them as a snack, an appetizer, or alongside your favorite meal. Hey, I’ve been known to serve them at breakfast! Sweet potatoes and eggs are a great combination.

If you are expecting a crowd I suggest you make up a few batches of these sweet potato fries. You can easily cook the sweet potato fries up in advance and reheat them in the oven just before you are ready to serve them. If you happen to have leftovers you can freeze the fries if you like but I am pretty sure they will all get eaten. Serve the fries with any of your favorite dipping sauces on the side or just with ketchup, the choice is yours.

Tips and Tricks

  • Choose sweet potatoes that are that long and thin. I find these easier to cut into fries. Make sure there are no blemishes.
  • Try to cut the fries the same size so they all cook up at the same pace. You don’t want some fries to be chewy and others crispy because they weren’t cut the same size.
  • Shake the air fryer basket halfway through or manually flip the fries over so they can cook thoroughly on all sides.
